Setting up your email account on an Apple iPhone

If this is the first account you’re setting up on the iPhone or the iPod Touch, tap Mail.

Otherwise, from the Home screen tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account…

Tap Other.

Tap Add Mail Account

Enter:

  • Your Name
  • Your full E-mail Address. Example: example@me.co.uk replacing me.co.uk with your domain name.
  • Your E-mail Password
  • A description

Tap Next (Top Right Corner).

Tap IMAP so it is highlighted.

Enter:

  • Incoming Mail Server as mail.opgweb.co.uk
  • Your full email Address. Example: example@me.co.uk for User Name
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) as mail.opgweb.co.uk
  • Your full E-mail Address. Example: example@me.co.uk for User Name
  • Your E-mail Password

Tap Next (Top Right Corner).

A warning will appear saying ' This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?' Tap Save.


A warning ‘Secure Connection Failed’ will appear. Tap Yes.


Wait for iPhone to verify the account information.

Tap the email account you have just created.

Ensure Mail and Notes are ON then Tap Account Info.


Scroll down and tap Advanced.


Set use SSL to OFF.

Leave the IMAP Path Prefix as /

Tap Server Port and enter 143.


Tap Authentication, set to Password


Tap the top left arrow to go back to 'Advanced'.

Tap SMTP.

Set use SSL to OFF.

Tap Server Port and enter 25.

Tap Authentication, set to MD5 Challenge-Response

Tap the top left arrow to go back to 'Account Info'.

Tap Done in the top right corner.

Thats it, your iPhone is now configured to send and receive email using your new email address.
